Day 12 -- first weigh in??

So, I decided to weigh myself this morning. I don't know why. I guess I was just curious. Since I have been sick, I have had zero appetite. I will take one bite of something and then I am done. Unfortunately, that means that my weigh in is not realistic.

Are you ready for what Mr. Scale told me?!

138 lbs!!!

I have lost 12 pounds so far. I know I will put some of it back on, but I would like to think that I lost some of it on my own. I guess time will tell. I am not going to go crazy about it, but it is nice to know that I CAN lose weight. I think I will just consider this an unofficial weigh in.

I am feeling a little better now. I am still super congested and barely have an appetite, but I do have energy. Who knows, maybe I will do some crunches with my weights today! :)

If you have light weights (2 or 3 lbs), then a great exercise that works your whole stomach is sit ups. Here is how to do it. Hold one weight with both hands (1 hand on each side of the weight). When laying down with knees bent, hold the weight right above your chest. Do a sit up as usual, but once you get to the top lift the weight above your head with both hands. Then roll your body down to your original position. Start off easy with this. It is a lot harder than it seems. AND it works your arms and stomach at the same time :)

I hope you all are doing well. Oh and don't let my crazy sicky weightloss let you guys resort to not eating. Since I haven't been able to eat, I can't stand up without getting dizzy. It is not healthy. Let's do this weightloss the healthy way!!! :)

Day 9

Well guys...

I was supposed to weigh in a couple days ago, but I have caught a bad cold. I am nearly bed ridden right now. I am feeling better today, so hopefully I will be able to jump back into this weightloss plan very shortly.

This Christmas treated me very well, however. I got two different palates DVD's and Jillian's 30 day shred. I have heard so many wonderful things about 30 day shred. I CAN'T WAIT to try it out. I also got two sets of hand weights that are great for using while doing crunches, side-to-sides, or even while going on a walk.

I hope you all have been good during the holidays! I can't wait to get back into the swing of things. :)

Day 6

Yesterday was a decent day for me. I did run into a few temptations that I fell victim to (like that fabulous looking chocolate cake from the birthday party). I made up for it by drinking a TON of water! I had 9 cups of water total yesterday. It felt good to drink that much.

Also, I was running SUPER late for work in the morning, so I didn't have time to do my morning lunges, but I made up for it by doing a TON of them last night. I didn't count, but I did them until my legs were so weak that I literally couldn't do anymore. That actually felt phenomenal. Its amazing how a simple exercise can really make you feel accomplished. I also did crunches and side to sides (to work those dang love handles).

Yesterday for lunch I had a couple slices of ham and a small salad. It was filling, but not overwhelming. It left me quite content. For a later snack I had reduced fat chex mix. Are those bad for you?

For dinner, I was not as careful. I had 2 slices of pizza. I wanted a third, but I held back.

I have decided to weigh in tomorrow morning instead of Thursday (since Thursday is Christmas). I am going to drink plenty of water and get in some good exercise tonight. Wish my luck guys.

I hope you all are doing well. Keep up the hard work!

If you haven't already...

Bookmark fitafterthirty.com. This blog is fantastic. There is a lot of motivation and interesting facts in here. I especially love that they abbreviate it to F.A.T.

Pay special attention to this post... 20 worst foods. I was amazed by this list.

Day 4

So far, I have been doing SO good on my diet, and then today I had a minor set back. I told myself that I was going to cut out soda (actually limit myself to one a week). I did not have soda at ALL last week! This is a HUGE accomplishment for me. I am a soda-a-holic. I haven't even had a craving for it. It has felt good progressing like that.

On Friday, I went out to lunch with my co-workers. I was very proud. While everyone else was ordering burgers or fried foods, I enjoyed a rather tasty honey mustard-ish dressing salad with chicken. It was delish. (Luckily salad is one of my favorite foods) Also, I ordered water.

On Saturday, I was also proud because that night, myMr's parents made cinnamon rolls and had ice cream, and I easily turned down both. I had no desire for it. I did cheat a little bit Saturday morning because I had french toast for breakfast, but I did not eat the bacon and eggs that came with it, so I thought that was pretty good.

So where did my minor set back come to play? Well, tonight was my sister's birthday party. As I gladly turned down the most fabulously looking chocolate cake, I broke and had a root beer float. Damn you soda, damn you. It was fabulous, but not at all good for my diet.

I have not been on top of working out. I kicked my ass one night by doing push-ups, lunges, sit-ups on a ball, and side-to-sides. I did go on a brisk walk tonight. Not very aerobic, but hey, it's exercise.

I am going to commit to doing some lunges in the morning to wake myself up and get my blood flowing before I go to work. I will update you all tomorrow on my food choices, and exercise choices.

Also, I am going to weigh in on Thursday. That will put me at one week in this process. I hope to see some progress. I hope you all are keeping up with all of your hard work and I hope you are resisting temptation that is so difficult around the holidays!

Day 1

Hi All,

This blog will be used to track my weight loss progression for my wedding. My wedding is on October 11, 2009. This gives me about 10 months to get my booty in shape. I will use this journal to share the honest journey to my weight loss success (hopefully success). I will not fib about my progress, nor will I hide the fact that I may have cheated on my diet.

I hope that this will help motivate anyone else out there too. Maybe we could even embark on this journey together!

So, first thing is first:

Height: 5 ft 7 in
Weight: 150 lbs
Goal Weight: 130 lbs
Feature I like about myself: My eyes and my boobs (hey, we are being honest here)
Feature that needs work: My buttox (it is HUGE...SERIOUSLY) and my legs.

Ultimately, I would just like to feel healthy, but having skinnier legs and flatter abs in the meantime wouldn't hurt.

Come join me, and let's get skinny together!!! :)

Take care until next time,
