Day 67

I have decided to give up soda for lent.

I drink way too much of it (usually diet and usually because I need caffeine). Whether it is diet or not, it is not good for me and it DEFINITELY does not help with the weightloss process.

I have a feeling that I will lose some lbs pretty quickly once my body realizes that I am not feeding it the poison known as soda.

What are you giving up for lent?

Day 65

I shredded last night.

No, not that kind of shredding.

It felt so good to get back on track. I really pushed myself. I did it on level one, but I jumped extra highed and lunged extra deep.

Then I weighed myself this morning...

140.0!!!!

That is 1.5 pounds!! I knew it would come off quick when I got back on track. I am ready to welcome the 130's and never turn back!! :)

P.S.

I got on new BCP on Saturday. I need to make sure that I exercise lots so that I don't gain weight. I am not sure how my body will react to it, but hopefully it is better than the last stuff I was on! :)

Day 64

I did it... I weighed myself. I have been SO scared to step on the scale.

Although I have gained some weight, I have not gained all of the weight back!!! I am at 141.5. I have gained 3 pounds since my lowest weight. Not bad considering I have barely exercised in the past few weeks. Now that I have seen the damage, I am ready to kick butt again.

How are you all doing?

Day 60

I stumbled across this article on weight loss tips for women. As we have all been witness to, losing the weight that we want to lose is tough. I am always up for advice that can make my job a little bit easier.

These are exercises for women who want to lose weight FAST! The original article can be found here.

"1.) Interval Training.

Interval training is basically a cardio workout performed in stages and is undoubtedly one of the best exercises for women looking to lose weight fast. If your chosen form of cardio is jogging for instance, instead of your usual 45 minute jog you would utilize short bursts of higher intensity work in between moments of low intensity - essentially you are working out in intervals. This form of training has been shown to be extremely effective at burning fat, more so than traditional long and slow cardio workouts and can be done in half the time, your average interval workout lasting only 25 minutes!

2.) Resistance Training.

For some women the thought of adding weights into their fitness routine brings images of the Incredible Hulk to their minds. If you are worried about using weights exercises for women then please don't - women have great difficulty putting on significant amounts of muscle mass even when using drugs so when you are on a calorie restricted weight loss routine you have absolutely no chance. Using weight will simply tone and shape your figure and may even help you burn more fat!

3.) Yoga.

Yoga helps to tone the body in a uniformed manner, will increase your flexibility and may well help you lose weight. Some of the yoga asanas stimulate sluggish glands to increase the amount of hormones they secrete, one example of these glands is the thyroid which affects our metabolism and our weight. The deep breathing that is performed during yoga sessions helps oxygen uptake into the body and fat cells which makes for more efficient fat burning making yoga one of the very best exercises for women.

4.) Pilates.

Whilst we are on the subject of great exercises for women we must not forget pilates. Pilates exercises works your core muscles - those responsible for balance and posture around your midriff which when strengthened will stabilize your body and help protect the spine. And pilates isn't just for balance and posture - it is also great for burning calories and you may well be surprised at the end of your first session just how worn out you feel.

Well there you have it, 4 superb fat burning exercises for women which will see your weight loss go from strength to strength. Integrate these into your own fitness routines and you will lose more weight, more quickly than you thought possible. But don't stop there, check out these superb exercises for women tips which when combined with these 4 great exercises will maximize your fat burning results."

I would DEFINITELY have to agree with their tips on interval training. I have found that interval training keeps the body surprised. When your body gets used to one particular exercise you do not get the same kind of workout. Mixing it up is key. The best way to mix it up is to do interval training!

I hope that these were able to help you as much as they helped me. :)

Day 59

Last night I attempted level 2 of 30 Day Shred.

I swear, I looked JUST like this guy after. Rather, I was laying on the ground sprawled out. My heart felt like it was going to explode out of my chest. Damn.

I REALLY need to make it a routine to do the shred. I do a lot of work with weights, but I desperately need the cardio if I want to see real results. It doesn't take much time... I just need to DO it. That is the hard part. haha

Are any of you still shredding?

P.S.

I bought my first pair of SKINNY JEANS!!!!!! :)

Day 57

I love Valentine's Day.

Although myMr and I attempt to show each other how important we are to each other everyday, sometimes life gets a little hectic. I think it is SO nice to have one day out of the year where we take a step back from our crazy lives and remind our men how special they are to us.

MyMr and I did not do anything crazy for Valentine's day. We slept in nice and late and slowly made our way to lunch at 2:00. Then, he surprised me and said that he had somewhere he wanted to take me. We found ourselves inside of Tiffany's. Goodness, I think that is like every girls dream.

He bought me this gorgeous sterling silver heart necklace from Tiffany's for my birthday, and for Valentine's day, he wanted to get me the matching bracelet. I was so surprised. I seriously couldn't believe it.

Could this possibly be a component of my wedding day attire? Hmm, it just might have to be :):)

Unfortunately, I have been in a weight loss funk lately. I haven't been eating super crazy, but I have not been exercising. Ugh, I need some motivation. I am scared to step on the scale. Helpppp.... haha. Goodness, I never realized how hard it would be get into a serious workout routine. I can do it for a few weeks, and then it slows down.

How do you guys get yourself to get in a SERIOUS workout routine?

I hope you all took some time out to tell/show your SO how much they mean to you.

Day 49 - I AM STILL ALIVE

Well, I have survived the past week... barely.

[SOURCE]

I was not able to work out much. I was basically pulling 19 hour days working on my project. That left very little time for exercise. I am a little nervous about stepping on the scale, but I think it is important for me to see the damage that last week did. I will most likely weigh myself in the morning.

Tonight I was able to FINALLY complete week 2 day 3 of the 100 push up challenge. Man, it was hard since I haven't been doing them consistently. I made myself push through them. Here are the results.

Set 1: 16 push-ups
Set 2: 17 push-ups
Set 3: 14 push-ups
Set 4: 14 push-ups
Set 5: 30 PUSH-UPS!!!
______________________________
TOTAL: 91 PUSH UPS!!!!!!!!

I am very proud of those numbers. I plan on doing my exhaustion test this week so that I can finally move on to week 3!

I have definitely realized how easy it is to let my exercising and eating habits slip. As soon as my schedule gets busy, my exercise routines and eating habits go out the window. I need to realize that those healthy habits should be the LAST thing to go when times get stressful. Exercise really does help to relieve stress, so why is it that I don't exercise when I am stressed? These are the kind of realizations that I need to come to if I am going to be a healthy person for the rest of my life.

I can't believe that I am nearly 50 days into my lifestyle change. I am discovering that it is a very difficult change to make permanent, but I am determined to do it. I have lost 11.5 pounds so far. There is no reason why I can't lose the last 8.5 pounds and keep it off forever.

How are you all doing? Have any of you experienced the same difficulties that I have? It is nice to know you are not alone in the difficult process.

Day 46

Have any of you noticed how hard it is to eat when you are stressed/busy all the time.

Let me start by saying that I in no way shape or form ever agree with not eating as a form to lose weight. I have just noticed that the past couple of days have been extremely harsh on my diet. For once, it was not because I was eating too much or eating fattening foods. Instead, I have been so glued to my computer trying to finish my program for school that hours and hours go by without me even noticing. Next thing I know, it is 8pm and I haven't eaten anything since 11am that afternoon.

Does this ever happen to any of you? I can't wait til Friday at midnight. Then, I can get back on track with all things health related.

I hope you all are doing well!!

Day 44

I swear I swear I swear I will be better about posting (and about the weight loss thing) come this weekend. I have the BIGGEST project due on Friday at Midnight, and I will be getting nearly zero sleep until then.

My exercise regime has been non-existent the past few days as well. I hope hope hope that I am still at that beautiful number I like to call 138.5!!!

I have been eating well, but I have definitely learned that eating well is not enough.

*crosses fingers*
