MIA again: 92 Days Left

Sorry I have been MIA...

I promise I have still been working out. I kicked my booty last night. I am about to go on a bike ride right now.

I have not weighed myself (mostly because my monthly friend has left me feeling HUGE lately!) but I intend on weighing myself VERY soon.

I promise I will be better about posting!

...

I have been DREADING writing in this blog because I honestly feel kind of ashamed.

When I was taking care of myself, I got all the way down to 138 (making that a 12 pound weight loss). My jeans were starting to get loose. I had lots of energy. I LOVED it.

Just the other day I noticed that my jeans were getting tighter. I definitely did the whole "I just washed and dried them so they must have shrunk" excuse. I didn't want to believe that I had put the weight back on.

Well, I finally weighed myself... and my fear became a reality. I have put back on 9 pounds. Yes, I am back up to 147. The scale is going in the wrong direction considering I am getting married in 3 months.

It was really hard to write this post today. I remember feeling SO proud of losing the weight, and now that is taken away with the pounds I have put on.

I get married in 103 days guys. I need to get serious about taking care of myself.

I want to feel sexy for my hubby on our wedding day/ night/ honeymoon. Scratch that. I WILL feel sexy.

This is it guys... who is in it with me?!

T-minus 5 days

... until I have to be in a bathing suit in front of my freakishly skinny future in laws.

Lord help me now...

Tomorrow, I am DEFINITELY going for a run and maybe getting a little shred action too.

P.S. Just an FYI for those of you who have Cox Cable... the 30 Day Shred is on the FREE Zone!!!!! Forget paying 10 bucks for it... just do it for free thanks to good ol Cox!!! :)

Making Progress

You guys will be so proud!!! I ate really well today. I had a salad for lunch (with cucumbers, carrots, broccoli, hard boiled egg, lettuce, and LIGHT dressing. It was delish and filled me up quite nicely.

Then, for dinner, I had fruit salad and half of a quesadilla. It was really small so it was not much cheese. I had lots of fruit though.

I am still addicted to Diet Coke. Is it really THAT bad for me!? Ugh... that will be a hard habit to break.

I am going to start something new on Fridays that I think a lot of people will like. I am going to call it Fast Food Fridays. Then, we can all learn that if you HAVE to go to a fast food restaurant you can eat within reason. I will exhibit one fast food restaurant per week and I will discuss the possible "healthier" options on the menu! You like?! I hope so.

P.S. I am STILL working on the comments thing. Don't hate me cuz I can't get it to work! :)

Give it to me straight...

... Just HOW bad are Taco Bell's Grilled Chicken Burritos for me?!

I was weak and needed food VERY quick today because I was on my way to my niece's graduation from high school. In order to prevent passing out, I went to Taco Bell. I purchased a grilled chicken burrito.

Seemed like a pretty smart purchase...

390 Calories, 13 grams of fat, 49 grams of carbs, and 19 grams of protein later...

No, it wasn't HORRIBLE... but it sure as heck isn't the best thing for me!

Tomorrow is a new day... AND it is FRIDAY! What could be better than that?!

I hope you all enjoy your friday!!! :)

130 days til the wedding!!

I can't believe how soon it is creeping up!

I have been doing pretty decent with this Operation: Get My Bangin Body Back.

One thing that I have been doing in order to be proactive is cutting out snacking. When I am at work, it is far too easy to snack my way into obesity. I am bored and there is food there, so why not eat, right?! WRONG.

I have been packing a healthy hearty lunch and eating a healthy hearty breakfast, and it has been keeping me full until dinner time. I have no idea if the scale will agree with my eating decisions, but we will find out soon enough.

I don't care what day it is cuz I just shredded

ON LEVEL TWO BABYYYYY!!!!!!!!!

This is the first time I have completed level two! The first time I tried it, I nearly passed out about 1/3 of the way through and was like hyperventilating on the floor.

Don't get me wrong... it was TOUGH... and I wanted to give up. Right when I was about to quit, she started talking about looking good in bathing suits. Damn that motivated me.

I used to NEVER care about wearing bathing suits because I knew I looked good. It is amazing what you can take for granted. My body is NO WHERE NEAR what I want it to be. But sure am determined to get my body back.

I will no longer have excuses for slacking. The wedding is 4 months away. There is no more time to waste. I need to take it up a few notches.

Let's do this.

Day 329843923

Guys I suck.

This is the problem... I do well for a week and then I suck it up.

The only exercise I have done is that I have gone for a run. Woohoo...

This is getting ridiculous. I take my senior pictures in a week. That means this week I am going to KICK ASSSSS! Mark my words.

Day 7

One week in and I am feelin gooooood. :)

I had a salad for lunch today again. It was delish! Oh and for breakfast I had about half of a muffin. It probably was not the best for me but I didn't go crazy!

Then, for dinner I had a quesadilla. Once again, probably not the best for me, but I didn't go crazy.

I have been trying to eat less more frequently. I think I have been doing okay with that. It is kinda hard with work, but I am trying my best.

I am still SUPER sore from my run. I am hoping that I can go for a run tomorrow after work. I did do some crunches with my weights tonight! WOOOO! :)

Day 6

Oh man guys, I am SO sore!!!

I went for a run last night. I cannot believe how much better my endurance is!!! I can run twice as far without having to stop! I really pushed myself last night though. I sprinted the last stretch of the way home. I think that is what did me in.

I can feel my booty toning as we speak!!! :) WOOO HOOOO! :)

For lunch today, I had a salad and a little bit of left over chicken alfredo. Then, for dinner, I had a grilled chicken soft taco and a grilled chicken burrito for dinner. I feel like I am getting the hang of this.

Don't get me wrong, snacking at work is still difficult, but I did not snack AT ALL today!

Hopefully tomorrow will be another good day!

Day 3

I did it. I weighed myself.

139.5!!!

That ended up not being nearly as high as I was expecting. It is only 1.5 pounds higher than my lowest weight. I can do this, I can do this, I can do this.

130 by October. That is the goal, y'all. WOoOO

Day 2

Today was not terrible. I am definitely missing my soda right about now. That is one thing that I have been good about.

I was gonna weigh in this morning, but I was running super late to meet a couple of my girl friends. I definitely plan on weighing in for real in the morning. I am not afraid of weighing in anymore. I know I have gained some back, but that is okay. I am ready to work on it now.

I will let you all know how the weigh in goes in the morning. :)

I am considering moving this blog since the comments seem to be unfixable. I will try a few more things, but if that doesn't work, then I will have to have you all follow me over at a new one.

You know what I just decided... yes just this moment, I just decided that I need to start doing the 100 push up challenge again.

Day 1.2

Yes, I am guilty...

... but I swear the twix wanted me JUST as much as I wanted it!!!!

Day 1.1

Be proud... I just got pita chips instead of regular ones! :)

WOOOOO progress! :)

Oh and I had a salad!

Day 1

I think it is time to start this thing over.

I have sucked at my weightloss maintenance. I refuse to sit here and make excuses for it.

I have not weighed myself in a long time, but I WILL step on that scale in the morning and face my ultimate doom. haha

Today is a new day. I need to start training for my 5K, get bathing suit fabulous, and just feel healthy. There is no time like the present. It starts now.

Water this week is going to be a must. I will not have any soda for the rest of the week. Oh goodness that is a scary thought. I have become heavily dependent on it for my caffeine fix.

MyMr asked if I would get a gym membership to his gym so that I can motivate him to go. I thought that was very sweet of him. So, on Friday, we are going to go purchase a gym membership and we are going to hold each other accountable.

This is it guys; it is time for change.

Day 124

Man, what a crazy week! I have been working a lot extra (which I have no problem with), so that has not left me much time for exercise. I have been VERY good about eating though.

Everyday for lunch I eat a salad with lots of veggies on it. It usually consists of carrots, broccoli, hard boiled egg, cucumbers, sometimes celery, a little bit of cheese, and since I don't like whole tomatoes, I put salsa on it. Then I top it with some ranch.

I am going to start taking the stairs down to the cafe instead of the elevator. I work on the 4th floor, so its not like its asking a lot of me. Plus, it gives me just that little bit of exercise. Good idea, no?

Well, there are exactly 24 weeks until our rehearsal dinner. Seems like plenty of time, but there is so much I want to accomplish from now until then. It sounds like it is time to get a move on with it all. :)

I hope everyone has an excellent Friday!!!

Day 120

Well, I still don't have my comments working, and I am not sure if I ever will haha. I have tried EVERYTHING!!!

I have recently started my new job!!! You would all be proud because I eat a salad every day for lunch. We have a great salad bar in the cafe at my work.

Also, I recently decided to start training for a 5K. The race I will run is in August, so it gives me a few months to build up my endurance. I went for a run today, and I can already tell that my endurance is getting better! Plus, it can't do anything but help tone my biggest problem area... MY LEGS!!! WOOO!

I know this is a weird post, and I promise to be better about posting as soon as I get my comments to work! In the meantime, visit my other blog! It should be more entertaining!!! :)

Day 107

I did it. I weighed myself. I haven't weighed myself since before all of my school stress because I knew all of the stress made me gain weight.

I am so glad I waited.

I am at 138.0 now!!! I have been pretty good about what I eat but I have been terrible about exercising. I am really pleased with this number. I know that it is where it is because I have zero stress now. It is amazing what stress does to your body. Ick.

Well, I am at 12 pounds lost. Eight more to go! Wooohooo!

Take care until next time,

P.S. I can't figure out what the heck is wrong with my comments. I think I will change my layout tonight and hopefully that will do the trick. :)

Day 101

No way, am I really in triple digits now? That is crazy!!!

I just wanted to let you guys know that I was informed that my comments are broken and no one can leave them. I am going to try to fix that tonight. I'll let you know when y'all can start leavin me some love!

Day 92

Yes, that is right, I said it... Day 92.

Wow, long time no blog. Well, I survived finals and I am now officially a college graduate. :) I can not believe it. :) :) :)

On the other hand, finals has found me completely losing touch with the weight loss thing. I have NO idea how much I weigh, but I know for sure that it is more than the last time I weighed in. That is okay though. I am okay with that.

From now until the wedding I will actually have time to exercise! I am super determined to get in shape now. I intend on going for a run in the morning. We will see how the day goes from there.

Have you found yourself losing focus on weight loss?

Day 73

I have been SO good the past two days! You all would be proud.

Last night I did 30 day shred. I did level one, but I REALLY pushed myself the whole time. Next time I do it, I will do level two.

Then, today, I went for a combination run/walk. I don't have the endurance to run too far yet, so mixed it up with a little walking too. It was a 30 minute run/walk so I am pleased. I just figured that that is a good way to tone my legs (my BIGGEST problem area).

So far today, I have eaten:

Breakfast: 2 hard boiled eggs (just the egg whites)
Mini Wheats (dry, about 3/4 of a serving)
Snack: Orange
Lunch: TBD
Dinner: TBD

I intend on staying on this healthy path. I am determined to get these last few pounds off! :) I can feel my legs tightening as we speak. WOOHOOO!

How are you maintaining your motivation?

I found this website which I think provides some interesting insight on Fast Food. It is baddddd y'all. I know we all know this, but it definitely helps to see the numbers to realize how bad it is. Take a look...

Day 72

Quick Post:
I weighed myself this morning and I have managed to get back to 138.5!!!!!!

WOOOHOOOO!!!!!!

ANDDD I have not had a single soda since lent started. Maybe that is why the lbs are comin off! :)

Day 67

I have decided to give up soda for lent.

I drink way too much of it (usually diet and usually because I need caffeine). Whether it is diet or not, it is not good for me and it DEFINITELY does not help with the weightloss process.

I have a feeling that I will lose some lbs pretty quickly once my body realizes that I am not feeding it the poison known as soda.

What are you giving up for lent?

Day 65

I shredded last night.

No, not that kind of shredding.

It felt so good to get back on track. I really pushed myself. I did it on level one, but I jumped extra highed and lunged extra deep.

Then I weighed myself this morning...

140.0!!!!

That is 1.5 pounds!! I knew it would come off quick when I got back on track. I am ready to welcome the 130's and never turn back!! :)

Take care until next time,

Monday, February 23, 2009

P.S.

I got on new BCP on Saturday. I need to make sure that I exercise lots so that I don't gain weight. I am not sure how my body will react to it, but hopefully it is better than the last stuff I was on! :)

Take care until next time,
Soon2BSkinnyBitch

Day 64

I did it... I weighed myself. I have been SO scared to step on the scale.

Although I have gained some weight, I have not gained all of the weight back!!! I am at 141.5. I have gained 3 pounds since my lowest weight. Not bad considering I have barely exercised in the past few weeks. Now that I have seen the damage, I am ready to kick butt again.

How are you all doing?

Day 60

I stumbled across this article on weight loss tips for women. As we have all been witness to, losing the weight that we want to lose is tough. I am always up for advice that can make my job a little bit easier.

These are exercises for women who want to lose weight FAST! The original article can be found here.

"1.) Interval Training.

Interval training is basically a cardio workout performed in stages and is undoubtedly one of the best exercises for women looking to lose weight fast. If your chosen form of cardio is jogging for instance, instead of your usual 45 minute jog you would utilize short bursts of higher intensity work in between moments of low intensity - essentially you are working out in intervals. This form of training has been shown to be extremely effective at burning fat, more so than traditional long and slow cardio workouts and can be done in half the time, your average interval workout lasting only 25 minutes!

2.) Resistance Training.

For some women the thought of adding weights into their fitness routine brings images of the Incredible Hulk to their minds. If you are worried about using weights exercises for women then please don't - women have great difficulty putting on significant amounts of muscle mass even when using drugs so when you are on a calorie restricted weight loss routine you have absolutely no chance. Using weight will simply tone and shape your figure and may even help you burn more fat!

3.) Yoga.

Yoga helps to tone the body in a uniformed manner, will increase your flexibility and may well help you lose weight. Some of the yoga asanas stimulate sluggish glands to increase the amount of hormones they secrete, one example of these glands is the thyroid which affects our metabolism and our weight. The deep breathing that is performed during yoga sessions helps oxygen uptake into the body and fat cells which makes for more efficient fat burning making yoga one of the very best exercises for women.

4.) Pilates.

Whilst we are on the subject of great exercises for women we must not forget pilates. Pilates exercises works your core muscles - those responsible for balance and posture around your midriff which when strengthened will stabilize your body and help protect the spine. And pilates isn't just for balance and posture - it is also great for burning calories and you may well be surprised at the end of your first session just how worn out you feel.

Well there you have it, 4 superb fat burning exercises for women which will see your weight loss go from strength to strength. Integrate these into your own fitness routines and you will lose more weight, more quickly than you thought possible. But don't stop there, check out these superb exercises for women tips which when combined with these 4 great exercises will maximize your fat burning results."

I would DEFINITELY have to agree with their tips on interval training. I have found that interval training keeps the body surprised. When your body gets used to one particular exercise you do not get the same kind of workout. Mixing it up is key. The best way to mix it up is to do interval training!

I hope that these were able to help you as much as they helped me. :)

Take care until next time,
Soon2BSkinnyBitch

Day 59

Last night I attempted level 2 of 30 Day Shred.

I swear, I looked JUST like this guy after. Rather, I was laying on the ground sprawled out. My heart felt like it was going to explode out of my chest. Damn.

I REALLY need to make it a routine to do the shred. I do a lot of work with weights, but I desperately need the cardio if I want to see real results. It doesn't take much time... I just need to DO it. That is the hard part. haha

Are any of you still shredding?

Take care until next time,

P.S.

I bought my first pair of SKINNY JEANS!!!!!! :)

Day 57

I love Valentine's Day.

Although myMr and I attempt to show each other how important we are to each other everyday, sometimes life gets a little hectic. I think it is SO nice to have one day out of the year where we take a step back from our crazy lives and remind our men how special they are to us.

MyMr and I did not do anything crazy for Valentine's day. We slept in nice and late and slowly made our way to lunch at 2:00. Then, he surprised me and said that he had somewhere he wanted to take me. We found ourselves inside of Tiffany's. Goodness, I think that is like every girls dream.

He bought me this gorgeous sterling silver heart necklace from Tiffany's for my birthday, and for Valentine's day, he wanted to get me the matching bracelet. I was so surprised. I seriously couldn't believe it.

Could this possibly be a component of my wedding day attire? Hmm, it just might have to be :):)

Unfortunately, I have been in a weight loss funk lately. I haven't been eating super crazy, but I have not been exercising. Ugh, I need some motivation. I am scared to step on the scale. Helpppp.... haha. Goodness, I never realized how hard it would be get into a serious workout routine. I can do it for a few weeks, and then it slows down.

How do you guys get yourself to get in a SERIOUS workout routine?

I hope you all took some time out to tell/show your SO how much they mean to you.

Day 51 - 100 push up exhaustion test

I have finally done it... week 2 is COMPLETE!!!!!!!!

I just got done with my exhaustion test that happens at the end of week 2.

When I first started this 100 push up challenge, I could only do 17 push ups. Now, just a couple of weeks later, I was able to successfully complete...

37 PUSH UPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Holy cow, right? This thing is actually working. If you are new to my blog, or if you are interesting in doing the 100 push up challenge, visit this site: 100 push ups

Day 49 - I AM STILL ALIVE

Well, I have survived the past week... barely.

[SOURCE]

I was not able to work out much. I was basically pulling 19 hour days working on my project. That left very little time for exercise. I am a little nervous about stepping on the scale, but I think it is important for me to see the damage that last week did. I will most likely weigh myself in the morning.

Tonight I was able to FINALLY complete week 2 day 3 of the 100 push up challenge. Man, it was hard since I haven't been doing them consistently. I made myself push through them. Here are the results.

Set 1: 16 push-ups
Set 2: 17 push-ups
Set 3: 14 push-ups
Set 4: 14 push-ups
Set 5: 30 PUSH-UPS!!!
______________________________
TOTAL: 91 PUSH UPS!!!!!!!!

I am very proud of those numbers. I plan on doing my exhaustion test this week so that I can finally move on to week 3!

I have definitely realized how easy it is to let my exercising and eating habits slip. As soon as my schedule gets busy, my exercise routines and eating habits go out the window. I need to realize that those healthy habits should be the LAST thing to go when times get stressful. Exercise really does help to relieve stress, so why is it that I don't exercise when I am stressed? These are the kind of realizations that I need to come to if I am going to be a healthy person for the rest of my life.

I can't believe that I am nearly 50 days into my lifestyle change. I am discovering that it is a very difficult change to make permanent, but I am determined to do it. I have lost 11.5 pounds so far. There is no reason why I can't lose the last 8.5 pounds and keep it off forever.

How are you all doing? Have any of you experienced the same difficulties that I have? It is nice to know you are not alone in the difficult process.

Day 46

Have any of you noticed how hard it is to eat when you are stressed/busy all the time.

Let me start by saying that I in no way shape or form ever agree with not eating as a form to lose weight. I have just noticed that the past couple of days have been extremely harsh on my diet. For once, it was not because I was eating too much or eating fattening foods. Instead, I have been so glued to my computer trying to finish my program for school that hours and hours go by without me even noticing. Next thing I know, it is 8pm and I haven't eaten anything since 11am that afternoon.

Does this ever happen to any of you? I can't wait til Friday at midnight. Then, I can get back on track with all things health related.

I hope you all are doing well!!

Day 44

I swear I swear I swear I will be better about posting (and about the weight loss thing) come this weekend. I have the BIGGEST project due on Friday at Midnight, and I will be getting nearly zero sleep until then.

My exercise regime has been non-existent the past few days as well. I hope hope hope that I am still at that beautiful number I like to call 138.5!!!

I have been eating well, but I have definitely learned that eating well is not enough.

*crosses fingers*

Day 42

Sorry I have been M.I.A. this past week. I have a HUGE project due next week, and I have been averaging about 3 hours of sleep. Needless to say, I have not been able to update like I have wanted.

[SOURCE]

This picture LITERALLY describes how I have been the past week. I am a computer science major, so I have been all hopped up on caffeine and my eyes are nearly as bloodshot as this picture! haha

On another note, I simply cannot believe that it is already day 42 with this thing. I feel like I have come so far, but I definitely still have a ways to go.

[SOURCE]

Well, to get onto the amazing news... I have lost TWO pounds since the last time I weighed in. I was feeling brave, so this morning I stepped on the scale, and it said...

138.5!!!!!!

I can't believe that I am in the 130's again. It has been a long time since I have seen that number! I am seriously still in shock. :)

I have kind of a random question for y'all tonight.... what is your guilty pleasure food that is really hard to say no to? I hope you all had a great week, and have an AWESOME weekend!

100 pushup challenge - Week 2 Day 2

My stomach is feeling SO much better guys!!! I can barely feel it when I do my pushups now!!!

Here are the stats for Week 2 Day 2:
Set 1: 15 push-ups
Set 2: 16 push-ups
Set 3: 12 push-ups
Set 4: 12 push-ups
Set 5: 25 push-ups
-------------------------------
Total: 80 PUSH-UPS!!!!!

Today was a GREAT push-up day!!! I couldn't believe how many I was able to push out on the last set! I intend on doing Week 2 Day 3 tomorrow and my Week 2 exhaustion test on Friday. I am super nervous/excited for it. I can't wait to see how far I have come in just two weeks!

On a side note, I found the hottest bathing suit that I intend on wearing on my honeymoon...

Source

Hot Damn, right?!

I can't wait to get my body back to how it was so that I can rock that little number.

Are there any riskay bathing suits that you wanna surprise your husband with on your honeymoon?

100 pushup challenge - Week 2 Day 1

Well, I did it... barely. I stomach is SO much better, but I don't think it was quite ready for all of these push ups. I am in quite a bit of discomfort right now... but I think it was worth it. I guess we will see!! haha

Set 1: 14
Set 2: 14
Set 3: 10
Set 4: 10
Set 5: 20
_____________
Total: 68 pushups

Not bad! :)

In between my sets of pushups, I did 25 legs lifts with a 3 lb weight on my foot, and 100 side to sides holding 3 lb weights. That way, even during my periods of rest, I was continuously moving. I feel good right now (besides this nagging stomach pain). I think I am going to do some lunges and call it a night! :)

Day 37

School has been kickin my booty lately.

This is my last quarter, so I am really trying to finish strong. I am going to school to be a computer scientist. I absolutely love my major, but I cannot wait to get out of school. I will officially be done in 51 days.

So what does all of this have to do with losing weight?! I have found it SO hard to find time to work out in the past. Actually, I think I always just made the lack of time an excuse. This quarter is no different. I have just as much school work as any other quarter, yet I have suddenly found the time to work out. Hmm, imagine that...

Even though I had to take a couple days off because of my stomach problems, I am so proud of how I have done so far. Without changing my life drastically, I have managed to lose 9.5 pounds. I can really feel my body thanking me every day. I still have more to go before I will be content, but I know that it will happen.

I just wanted to let all of you know how proud I am of all of you. It takes a lot to stop making excuses and find the "time" to work out. Your body is thanking you all every day. At times it may be hard, but push through it.

This weekend was fabulous. MyMr surprised me and had a little weekend getaway planned.

He booked a room at a hotel for us to stay at. It is at the place in the picture above! It was a suite, so it had its own kitchen, living room, and bedroom. It was so nice. We spent a lot of much needed time together. On top of that, I did a pretty decent job eating too!

Last night we went to dinner at Hunter's Steakhouse. I got a New York Strip Steak. It came with potatoes, onion rings (which I only at one of), and a Caesar salad. I only ate about half the steak, half of the potatoes, all of the salad, and one onion ring. I was full too! :)

This morning, we had a complementary breakfast at our hotel. I ate a piece of french toast, some breakfast potatoes, and some pineapple. Then myMr and I went to subway for lunch. I got a footlong sub, but only ate half. Then I had the other half for dinner.

Not too shabby, eh?

I hope you all had a GREAT weekend!

I am going to weigh in tomorrow morning... let's hope that my weekend choices didn't reflect poorly on the scale!!! :)

P.S. Beyonce has a bangin body. I love how she has thicker thighs (compared to the tweaker skinny celebrities out there), and STILL rocks it. You go, girl!

Day 33

Today I have hit yet another stumbling block. It seems like once I get on a roll, something happens that pushes me two steps back.

Today I was supposed to be doing my Week 2 Day 1 of the hundred pushup challenge. I started with my first set and all of a sudden I got a shooting pain in my lower left abdomen. It hurt so bad that I literally could not do anymore. So then I thought that I could at least do the pushups from my knees. I did my first set with mild pain (14 pushups). Then I did my second set with a little more pain (14 pushups). Then on the third set, it was too much.

I have no idea what happened. The other day when I was doing the tucked v-ups I felt a very mild pain in my lower left abdomen, but I just thought that I was working muscles that I haven't worked in a long time. It seems like it has only gotten worse since then.

Since I couldn't do my push-ups, I though that maybe I could do some sit-ups so at least get some kind of work out. I couldn't even do one without the pain being intolerable.

I am hoping that maybe I just overworked it. I am going to give myself a small break so I can heal. Hopefully I will be able to find exercises that I can do in the meantime. I want to see the 130's SO bad. I know it won't happen without my body being healthy.

I hope you guys aren't working your bodies too hard. Remember that our muscles need time to repair themselves after a hard workout.

Keep up the hard work.

Take care until next time,

Day 32

You will never believe what I saw on the scale this morning!!!

Luckily for me, I didn't have a mouse stepping on the scale. Instead I saw the most fabulous numbers!!!

140.5!!!

I could not believe my eyes. Yes, I have only lost a half a pound... but I definitely thought that I had gained weight since my last weigh in. I guess last night's workout kicked my booty enough.

Man, I want to be in the 130's so bad! Almost there.

How are y'all doing? Keeping up with the exercise? Keep it up ladies!!!! Your hard work is worth it!!! :D

Take care until next time,

100 push up challenge: Week 1, Day 3

Wow... I just had the best workout.

...and YES, I did more than just walk to the fridge.

I started out by doing 4 sets of 20 tucked V-ups. If you aren't familiar with this exercise, you start in a hollow hold position (on your booty with you feet and back in the air in a laid out position). Then you bring your knees and chest up. Nearly touch your knees to your chest. Then, bring your body back to the original hollow hold position.

It is basically the same exercise as this picture, but the man has terrible form... AND I had my hands at my side rather than resting on the floor. Resting on the floor is a bit easier for those just starting out.

Well, after I did these, I sit sit ups with my weights. I did 2 sets of 20. Then I busted out 10 Days to a Better Body. Let me tell you... this was a damn good work out. I thought it was too easy at the beginning, but the weights really made a difference. Part way through, I was huffing and puffing like crazy.

Then, for some CRAZY reason, I decided to do Week 1 Day 3 of the 100 push up challenge AFTER all of my crazy arm exercises. Here are my results:

Set 1: 11
Set 2: 15
Set 3: 9
Set 4: 9
Set 5: 22
_____________
Total: 66 Push ups

I was VERY pleased with these results, especially when it came after the brutal video. I can't believe that I am already on Week 2 this week. It's crazy, but I already feel much stronger.

Oh and I forgot. I did a bunch of side to sides with 5 lbs of weights in each hand. Man, I wish my eating habits were as good as this workout.

How are all of you ladies doing? Although I am dreading it, I am going to weigh in tomorrow morning. I know I have gained some weight, but hey, I can't keep putting off weighing in just because I don't want to see the numbers rise. This blog is all about being real. I have been eating poorly, that is a fact. I need to see the numbers myself so that I can witness the consequences of my bad habits.

Keep up the hard work y'all. I really admire all of you that can eat healthy all this time. It really is difficult.

Take care until next time,

100 push up challenge: Week 1, Day 2

So here is how this is going to happen. Each week will have three days of pushups. I am going to post my results every day that I do push ups (3x a week). In 6 weeks, you will see me complete 100 push ups in a row!!!

Here is Week 1, Day 2 results:

Set 1: 10
Set 2: 12
Set 3: 8
Set 4: 8
Set 5: As many as I can = 20
-----------------------------
Total: 58 Push ups

My arms were so dang tired on my last set. I was shaking by about 10, but I made myself do more than I did last time. I am pleased with these numbers, but I will not stop until I can do 100 in a row. :)

How are y'all doin on the push up challenge? Are you making it through the first week?

Take care until next time,
Soon2BSkinnyBitch

Day 27

Oh man guys... this week was terrible. My favorite monthly visitor decided to pay me a visit, and totally put a damper on the whole "weigh-in", work out, and lose weight thing. I am still keeping up with my push ups and I will post my Week 1 day 2 push up results a little later.

Man guys, this was seriously a bad week. I am scared to weigh myself. I even ate at MCDONALDS. ugh. EWWWW I don't even like McDonalds, but I needed something fast, and it was there. I can't believe I did that.

Okay so here is the thing... Valentines day is in 30 days. Here is what I am envisioning... I am picturing myself in a hott little number for myMr on Valentines Day. The only way that I will get in something like that is if I can get serious and drop some lbs in the next 30 days. I am going to tone up and slim down!

Anyone else wanna join in on Mission: be hott for our men on Valentine's day?

Let's do it y'all! :)

Hundred Push Up Challenge: Week 1

Well, I have officially made it through day one of week one of the hundred push up challenge.

Todays push up totals:
Set 1: 10
Set 2: 12
Set 3: 7
Set 4: 7
Set 5: As many as I can = 16
____________________________
Total: 52 pushups

Damn... thats not too shabby for day one. I can feel my arms burning already.

Today I ate pretty darn healthy too! I had Mini Wheats for breakfast with a glass of orange juice. Then I got a 12 inch subway sandwich for lunch, but I only ate half (I am saving the other half for lunch tomorrow), and then for dinner I had a salad (with corn, beans, uhhh I can't remember what else, and very little ranch dressing). I was very impressed.

I am going to go to some ab work. I was not the best eater/work out person this weekend, so I definitely have to make up for it now.

I hope you all made it through all of the football games without pigging out like I did... ugh.

I think I will weigh in on Wednesday this week. Yes, Wednesday sounds like a great day!! :D

Take care until next time,

Day 21 : 100 Push up challenge Initial Test

Ok guys, I have been inspired.

I have decided to embark on the journey known as the hundred push up challenge.

If you haven't heard of this, I will give a brief synopses. The creator of the challenge is determined that everyone can do 100 push-ups, it just takes a little training. They say that whether you can only do 3 or 30 push-ups right now, you will be able to do 100 by the end of their 6 week long training program.

Since push ups work your abs, triceps, biceps, etc. I figured that it is a great challenge to attempt.

Let me give you a little background on my previous push-up training. I used to be a gymnast, and we would have monthly fitness tests. These tests would always include push-ups, sit-ups, pull-ups, leg lifts, etc. My arms have always been one of the stronger parts of my body. I would always win the fitness tests for both pull-ups and push-ups. I would be able to do about 25 pull ups and well over 50 push-ups (all the way to the floor, keep in mind).

Now, is a different story.

I just completed my initial test. I was able to do 17 push-ups (not all the way down, but over half way down) before I started having bad form. That is when I decided to call it quits. Don't get me wrong, I am still pleased with this number, as it is more than I anticipated being able to do, but I am ready to complete the 100 push up challenge.

Over the next 6 weeks I will be logging my push ups. By the end, I WILL be able to do 100 push ups.

If any of you are interested in doing this challenge, then visit hundredpushups.com.

Don't be discouraged if you cant do any push ups at all. It is VERY common to start this challenge by doing modified push ups. To do a modified push up, start on your knees rather than your feet like a normal push up. This is a perfectly acceptable way to complete this challenge.

I hope some of y'all will join me in this challenge!

Day 21

Do you ever have days where you feel heavy for no apparent reason? Period nowhere in sight, drinking lots of water, exercising... yet I feel SO heavy today. WTH?!

Needless to say, I will not be weighing myself tomorrow morning. I think I'm gonna give myself a good ol butt kickin tonight. Maybe that will make me feel skinnier in the mornin.

I hope y'all aren't having a heavy day today!

Take care until next time,

P.S. MY LEGS ARE SOOOO SORE!!!!!!!!!

Day 19

Wow, I just kicked my own ass.

[Insert picture of Jim Carrey smashing his own face in a toilet seat here]

The weights that I got for Christmas have rubber handles that allow me to slip the weights on my feet, etc. I put a 3lb weight on each foot and did all kinds of legs exercises. It got to the point where my legs were shaking from getting so much of a workout. My legs are definitely my problem area, so this felt phenomenal.

I didn't weigh myself this morning. I will do it soon. I am just enjoying feeling healthier.

On another note, I had to walk up this BRUTAL hill to get to one of my classes today and OH MY GOD. My legs were burning. I think that is what motivated my leg workout today. I shouldn't feel that worn out from just going up a hill.

I don't have class tomorrow, so I am going to get a MAJOR workout in. I'm considering going for a good run. I am prone to shin splints (an ongoing injury) so I get nervous about running, but I always feel good after a nice run.

Tonight I went to Olive Garden and just had unlimited salad and breadsticks. I only had one breadstick and two small plates of salad. I was STUFFED after that though. I think my stomach is shrinking! YAY!

I hope you all are doing well. Keep up all the hard work!!!!

Take care until next time,
Soon2BSkinnyBitch

Day 18

I weighed in yesterday morning. As I suspected, I gained back some weight now that I am eating more. I officially weighed in at 143.0. That means I put 5 pounds back on. It's not too bad considering I was down 12 pounds. So, that just means that I am down 7 pounds instead. Hey, I'll take it!

I just got done doing the Shred again. I can really feel it getting easier. I can't believe it. I remember the first day I did it and how hard it was. I think I am going to move up to level 2 tomorrow. Yep, I said it, LEVEL 2. Holy cow. I am a little nervous for it!

Today, I didn't eat much because I was super busy with my first day back at school. I had some reduced fat wheat thins this morning. Then for a late lunch, I had a chicken bowl from Chipotle. I didn't finish all of it. I will probably have an apple or an orange later tonight.

I don't have class until 12:30 tomorrow, so I plan on waking up nice and early and getting a good butt kicking in. I can't wait. I feel so much more energetic lately. These are the kind of results that I was hoping for!!!

WOOOO! :)

Take care until next time,

10 reasons to lose 10+

Sam at On My Way to Being a Healthy Bride tagged me with this one. This is a great tag given that my whole blog is based on the concept of weightloss.

Rules:
List the 10 reasons why you are losing weight
Tag 5 other
Be sure to post these rules on your post
Be sure to link the blog that tagged you
See, simple, right?

My reasons for losing 10 pounds + a whole lot more are:

1. I want to feel comfortable wearing a bikini on my honeymoon.
2. I want to walk up and down flights of stairs without feeling out of breath.
3. I want to feel beautiful on my wedding day.
4. I want to have enough energy for my honeymoon and wedding night... if you know what I mean ;)
5. I want to enjoy shopping with my besties and my FSIL. It seems like all of my friends are size 2's. It is not fun shopping for cute skirts and jeans knowing that your friends would be swimming in your clothes.
6. I want to make sure that I will be around for my children.
7. I don't want to be that parent that couldn't run around doing sports with their kids. That parent that had to sit on the sidelines. I want to be right in the middle of the action.
8. I want to be able to run a marathon with my Future In-Laws some day. Yes, they run marathons, and I can barely run to the fridge. haha.
9. I want to feel beautiful in my own skin. I don't want to have to worry about people staring at my cellulite.
10. And most important of all, I want to be healthy. I want to feel healthy inside and out. This will happen guys.

Ok, let me hear your reasons! I tag all of you. I don't want to hear from just 5 of you. I think it is important for all of us to be reminded of why we are doing what we are doing.

Take care until next time,
Soon2BSkinnyBitch

10 things about me...

I guess now is as good a time as any to catch up on all the amazing awards I have been given, etc.

I was recently tagged by Amy. She has asked me to list 10 interesting facts about me and then tag 7 other people. I particularly like this one, because it gives you all a little insight into the world of Soon2BSkinnyBitch that you don't get to see from my usual posts. So, here goes...

1. Like Amy I come from a large family. I am the youngest of 5 girls. Yes, my dad lived in a house full of raging hormones... poor guy.

2. I became an aunt when I was 4 years old. Its pretty cool to be more than an aunt to my niece. We are really good friends too.

3. I am one of the only blonde haired, blue eyed, white girls in the computer science industry.

4. I met my fiance in a computer lab. Hahaha. Wow we are such dorks. I tutored his computer science class. It was a match made in geek heaven.

5. I consider myself almost closer to my fiance's family than to my own. I love my family, don't get me wrong, but I relate to my fiance's family so much more. They are wonderful people.

6. I am done with school in March, have my graduation ceremony in June, and get married in October. This is going to be a wonderful year.

7. At one point in my life I did three competitive sports simultaneously. On top of that, in one day I had dive practice, followed by school, followed by a dive meet, followed by a gymnastics meet, followed by cheer practice. It was insane. I love it.

8. I have scoliosis. I am thankful for it though, because if I didn't have it, I would have accepted a full ride scholarship for cheerleading at SMU, and never would have met my fiance.

9. I practically lived with my fiance from about a month into our relationship to about 8 months into our relationship. Then, I moved back home to save money for our wedding. I guess what they say is true, when you know... you know.

10. I have never broken a bone, but I have torn my Achilles tendon, hyper extended both of my knees at the same time, rolled countless ankles, have scoliosis, bruised my tailbone, and much more. haha. No broken bones though!!! I drink my milk!!! :)

So, my facts may not be interesting, but it was fun doing it. Ok, so the seven lucky people are... Good Gals, Inc., Soon2BeHealthyBride, Losing Waist, Katie, Counting Down..., With this ring, I'll get fit, Christy Leigh

I can't wait to learn more about you ladies!

Take care until next time,
Soon2BSkinnyBitch

Oh and P.S.

GO CHARGERS!!!!!! :)

Day 15/16

Wow, there is so much to catch up on!

First of all, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! I know so many of us have new years resolutions to get in shape, but I have this theory that all new years resolutions fail, so instead I decided to make it a "New You Resolution" :) Err... "New ME Resolution" :) This is seriously happening guys.

Second of all, THANK YOU SOOOO much for all the fabulous awards that you all have given me. I will collect and hand them out to you all soon :)

I JUST got done with Day 1 of 30 Day Shred. OH MY GOD. I knew I was out of shape, but WOW. I am REALLY out of shape. I can't wait to do it tomorrow to see if it is any easier. It was really difficult, but I made it through it!

I have not been super careful with food. I feel all better now, but I think my stomach has shrunk, so I eat very little before I am full. I have basically been trying to pack myself with protein because I know I need it.

Today, I had the opportunity to eat the most delicious looking brownie, but I turned it down. Pretty easily too. If I really want to eat something, I let myself have it. But I eat it within reason. I think Sam wrote a blog post about this. Don't make your body feel like you can't eat anything you want. If you let yourself have a couple of bites, your craving will be quenched. It really works.

I am a salt-a-holic, so my biggest downfall is potato chips. Mmmm... the salty goodness does my body bad. I have learned that if I pack a few chips in a little baggy and bring it with me to work... either I don't eat it (which is good) or I eat just a few quenching my craving without eating an entire bag (which is good). It really is the way to go.

I am going to do Day 2 of 30 day shred tonight. (If you haven't guessed, I wrote half of this post last night and half tonight) It is super tiring, but I know that if I keep doing it, then it will get easier, and I will see results.

Are you guys having luck with any workout videos? How is your motivation and determination on this January 2nd? I hope you all are still going strong.

I think I am going to weigh in tomorrow morning when I wake up. Wish me luck!

Take care until next time,
Soon2BSkinnyBitch
